ST. PAUL, Minn. - League headquarters have announced that Nick Anderson's performance last week on the mound was worthy of NSIC Pitcher of the Week. Anderson appeared in four games, going 2-0 with two saves as he made three appearances out of the bullpen and in his one start threw a complete game victory. Over the week, Anderson worked a total of 5.2 innings of relief while pitching 7.0 innings in his start. In the 12.2 total innings, Anderson allowed only two earned runs for a 1.42 earned run average with 12 strikeouts.

His week started last Wednesday when he was called upon to finish Concordia's 10-9 win over Northern State. In that outing, Anderson allowed a run with two strikeouts in two innings for his fourth win of the year.

In the four game series against Minnesota Crookston, Anderson pitched once on the first day of the series, working 1.2 innings for a save in CU's 18-8 win. He came in with a five run lead with the bases loaded in the sixth inning and struck out four of his six outs for his fourth save.

The next day, Anderson worked 2.0 perfect innings for his second straight save and fifth of the season. The fifth save registered for Anderson ties a single season record and was his sixth career save ranking second on the career record list.

After breezing through his 2.0 perfect innings, his arm was still loose enough to start the final game of the series as he mowed down UMC for a complete game victory. He struck out five Golden Eagles and allowed one run while scattering seven hits. In the UMC series, Anderson went 1-0 with two saves, pitching 10.2 innings allowing eight hits with 10 strikeouts in two days.

He is now 5-5 on the season with five saves and has won 14 career games for Concordia. He has appeared in 21 games with four starts hurling three complete games. The Golden Bears are a perfect 4-0 when Anderson starts a ball game and 12-9 in his 21 appearances.
