Golden Bears Release Nationally-Competitive Schedule
Aug. 03 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head women's basketball coach Paul Fessler has released the 2010-11 season schedule this afternoon. The slate features all 26 games against NCAA Division II competition, with the four non-conference games all against teams from the 2010 NCAA Tournament field. Poke Signs On With Golden Bear Basketball
May. 18 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Amanda Poke of Richfield, Minn. has signed an Institutional Letter of Intent to attend Concordia University in 2010-11 and jump on board as a member of the CU women's basketball team. Poke will join the team as a sophomore, transferring in after one season spent at Cloud County Community College.
2009-10 Women's Basketball Season In Review
Apr. 07 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Golden Bear women's basketball team enjoyed a great 2009-10 season, rolling out to a fantastic start before winning the NSIC regular season title and making it to the championship round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The squad finished with a #19 national ranking, going 26-6 overall and went 17-3 in league play, using a refurbished team roster with plenty of talent transferred in. Williams Named All-America Honorable Mention
Apr. 05 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University junior Jineen Williams has been named to the 2010 Women's DII Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention list. The Golden Bear newcomer led CU in scoring during the 2009-10 campaign and was one of four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women's basketball players to make the WDIIB All-American list.
Golden Bears Finish At #19 In Nation
Apr. 01 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Golden Bear women's basketball team took a season best #19 ranking in the final USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll of the 2009-10 season. Concordia put up a 26-6 overall record and went 17-3 in NSIC play. The Golden Bears were the champions of the NSIC regular season, the fourth time in school history that CU claimed the regular season crown. They advanced to the championship round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament, a feat accomplished by just one other CU squad in school history. Complete season recap coming soon!
