Feb. 04 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head football coach
Mark Mauer has announced that an additional 15 prep athletes have joined the Golden Bear football program for the 2010 season. The second wave of players joining the recruiting class, along with the initial crop of 15 athletes, are contingent upon admission to Concordia University and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA eligibility center.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University head football coach Mark Mauer has announced that 15 players will join the Golden Bear football program for the 2010 season. When asked about his recruiting class as a whole, coach Mauer elaborated, "We were successfully able to meet our recruiting needs, and have done well at position recruiting while bolstering the entire roster. It's a tremendous recruiting class and adds to our two prior recruiting classes and will put us in position to be extremely competitive. The quality of this class extends beyond the football field. We have brought in excellent character young men that are good students." Concordia's recruiting class comes from 5 different states, populated by 5 from Minnesota, 4 from Wisconsin, 3 from California, 2 from Illinois, and 1 from Florida. More student-athletes are expected to join the recruiting class in the near future.

Jan. 19 - WINONA, Minn. - The 2009 Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Super Region Three Teams were released earlier this afternoon with Concordia junior tight end
Hayden Vavra (Cambridge, Minn.) being selected as the Third Team Tight End. Vavra was the All-NSIC South Division First Team Tight End and is one of the more versatile and intelligent football players in the Northern Sun.

Will Brown (Shoreview, Minn.) has been rewarded for one of the most prolific seasons posted by a defensive end in Division II football in 2009 as he was named a Daktronics All-Super Region 3 Second Team selection by the sports information directors from the Northern Sun (NSIC), Rocky Mountain (RMAC) and Great Lakes (GLIAC) conferences late Tuesday afternoon.
