Mar. 12 – ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Golden Bears have gotten their practice sessions in down in Durango, Colo., preparing for the 2010 NCAA Central Region Tournament, hosted by Fort Lewis College. In the first-ever meeting between the Golden Bears and Grizzlies, #3 Concordia (24-5) takes on #6 Adams State College (21-7) in the tournament quarterfinals on Friday at 4:00 pm (CT). The matchup pits CU's high velocity offense against a tough ASC defense and rebounding squad. Tickets for the Central Region Tournament are available online and at the Whalen Gymnasium door. Fans unable to make the spring trip south can follow the action online all weekend long!

Mar. 11 – FLORENCE, Ariz. - The 25th-ranked Concordia women's golf squad improved 13 strokes over their first round of play to move up from fourth to finish in third out of five NSIC teams playing at the Poston Butte Invite at Poston Butte Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday. Freshman
Laura Petterson paced the squad by netting a 10 stroke improvement with a 74 to tie for sixth with a 158 (+14).

Mar. 11 – LAKELAND, Fla. - The Concordia University baseball team scored five runs on three hits and worked a decisive 5-1 victory over 25th-ranked Nebraska-Omaha at Henley Field. Concordia improved to 7-8 on the year while handing the Mavericks their second loss (9-2). Concordia was retired in order in six of the nine innings while the Mavericks stranded at least one runner in the first seven innings including 11 total for the game with five in scoring position.

Mar. 10 – FLORENCE, Ariz. - The Concordia University men's and women's golf officially tee'd off for the spring season today at Poston Butte Golf Course on their spring trip. The men are competing head-to-head against Northern Sun foe Upper Iowa with Mesa Community College adding individual competitors. CU's men lead Upper Iowa by 13 strokes, shooting 304 paced by freshman
John Potter who leads the field with a 73, firing a 35 on the front nine. The women sent five out on the scorecard, and all five carded an 84 and are tied for 10th in the 34 golfer field consisting of five NSIC teams. CU's women shot 36 over par today and are in fourth of five but only 15 back of Minnesota State for the lead. Play resumes tomorrow!

PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University junior Maurika Hickman has been honored as one of the ten best players in the Central Region, being named to the 2010 Daktronics Women's Basketball All-Central Region Second Team. Hickman is the leading scorer for the Golden Bears, who are third in the region and head into NCAA Tournament play this weekend.
Mar. 09 – AUBURNDALE, Fla. - For the second consecutive game, Concordia University surrendered 13 runs to their opposition, this time a 13-2 loss to Saginaw Valley State (3-5) at Lake Myrtle Field #4 on Tuesday afternoon. Concordia falls to 6-8 on the season with the loss heading into their day off on their 2010 spring trip to the Orlando-area. CU is now 3-2 on their spring trip. Senior

Mar. 09 – ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University's Jineen Williams has been named to the WBCA State Farm Coaches' All-Region Team, announced today by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Williams is a junior guard for the Golden Bears and has been one of CU's top scorers and rebounders this season. She is now among the 40 finalists for 10-member WBCA All-America distinction, as voted on by WBCA member coaches.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Nebraska-Omaha will be airing a live online audio broadcast free of charge for Thursday's nine inning game between Concordia University and the 25th-ranked UNO Mavericks. The games will be streamed through Maverick Teamline with play-by-play by Yano Mangiameli. The game is set for a 9:00 a.m. first pitch central time. Tomorrow's game against Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) will have live stats, with first pitch at 12:00 p.m. central time.
