2010 Softball Season Recap

May. 27 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia University softball team enjoyed a successful 2010 campaign, going 35-17 overall with a 19-7 overall record to tie for 4th place in the NSIC.  The squad advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years, the team's seniors enjoying a trip to the dance for the first time in their careers.  The Golden Bears took a 2-0 win over #16  Augustana College in the first round of the regional before falling out of the double-elimination event.  Read the complete season recap!

All-American Anna Bjorlin

May. 27 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - It's official: Anna Bjorlin is an All-American.  The senior has been announced as a member of the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-America Third Team.  Bjorlin was the top second baseman in both the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Central Region this year, the All-American bid confirming her proficiency on the diamond.  Bjorlin is just the second All-American softball player in Concordia University history.  She was one of five players from the NSIC to be named an All-American this season by the NFCA.  VIEW COMPLETE ALL-AMERICAN RELEASE

CU's Newest Academic All-American, Anna Bjorlin

May. 26 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Golden Bear senior Anna Bjorlin has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Third Team.  Bjorlin has secured the right side of the middle infield for four years at Concordia University while maintaining a 3.86 GPA as a criminal justice major.  She is one of just two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) student-athletes to be named an Academic All-American this season.  VIEW COMPLETE NATIONAL RELEASE 

Bjorlin and Anderson Named All-Region By Nation's Coaches

May. 21 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University's Anna Bjorlin and Katie Anderson have been named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Central Region First Team, as voted on by the region's coaches.  Both of the highly talented student-athletes are now eligible to be selected to one of three All-American teams.  The entire list of this year's All-Region selections are available at http://www.nfca.org/pagebank/?id=1569.

Bjorlin Tabbed All-Central Region First Team

May. 19 - ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University senior Anna Bjorlin has been named to the 2010 Daktronics All-Central Region Softball Team, announced today.  Bjorlin represents the second base position on the All-Region First Team, an honorary team that places the top receivers of votes at each position, along with three outfielders and three pitchers.  Bjorlin is now in contention to become a Daktronics All-American, joining a pool of the nation's other All-Region First Team second basemen.
